Faculty Conference 26-27 September 2022 Progress or regression? What will the world be like after the new Cold War?

On September 26-27, 2022, a conference was held to commemorate the twenty-second anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of International and Political Studies at the University of Lodz: Progress or regression? What will the world be like after the new Cold War?
Its aim was to provide forecasts for the coming decades based on an analysis of the events of the past decades of the 21st century. Almost 200 guests and speakers from the most important academic centers in Poland, as well as international security specialists from Sweden (Prof. Stefan Höjelid) and Finland (Dr. Timo Hellenberg), discussed the contemporary domestic and foreign policy of states, armed and non-military conflicts, broadly understood security, phenomena related to identity and cultural crisis, as well as social and economic transformations taking place in the modern world.

At the Faculty and at the Training and Conference Center of the University of Lodz, an exhibition devoted to the life and work of deceased professors was also organized: Waldemar Michowicz, founder of the Institute of International Studies, on the basis of which the Faculty of International and Political Studies was established in 2000, and prof. Stanisław Konopacki, an outstanding researcher of European integration, founder of the Department of European Studies; as part of the exhibition, the latest monographs of employees of individual departments of WSMiP were also presented.
The jubilee celebrations were honored, among others with the speeches of the Deputy Mayor of the City of Łódź, Adam Pustelnik and prof. Agnieszka Kurczewska, Vice-Rector of the University of Lodz for Cooperation with the Environment.
